SOLAR TRAINING FOR TECHNICIANS TO KICK OFF IN APRIL 2017

With the increasing need to expand man power skills for solar technicians in both urban and rural areas CREEC has kicked off preparations for the third series of the solar technician training this April 2017. The number of solar products available on the market continue to increase on a daily basis but the adoption and sustainability has been affected greatly by poor connections. This is mainly caused by technicians that do not have the right skill set to make the right measurements and make installations who discourage others from adopting the technology because of the poor reviews.

So as to expand energy solutions country wide, the centre is enrolling trainees in the third periodic training for solar technicians on stand-alone solar home system for individuals and institutions. We can express our discussion with feelings through Happy New Year GIF 2018 pictures.  The centre has the capacity to train technicians in stand-alone solar home system, site survey, sizing, electrical basics, installation, troubleshooting, rectification, repairs and maintenance after which training on hybrid systems will be enrolled which include grid tie etc.

The objective for the training is to ensure that the country has well trained technicians at all levels to help install solar systems, maintain and repair broken solar systems. This is also an opportunity to equip the youth with technical skills enabling them to create their own opportunities with a quality skill set. The training is competence based where theory is done concurrently with practical sessions. Each trainee is required to pay 350,000shillings for the week long training. Applications should be sent to info@creec.or.ug
