YOUTH  EMPOWERMENT WITH SOLAR TECHNICIAN TRAININGS

This August 22nd to 26th 2016 the Centre for Research in Energy and Energy Conservation (CREEC) is organizing a solar technician training equip technicians with hands-on skills and knowledge that puts them in a good position to provide a good and trusted service.

Basing on past training experiences, there is need to expand on the man power skills of technicians right from urban to rural areas and a lot of people want to acquire skills but they are not sure where to get the service from most especially solar related  activities.

CREEC identifies that there is need to expand energy solutions country wide and it is from this background that the centre will enroll periodic trainings for solar technicians on stand-alone solar home systems for all categories of solar technicians. The centre has the capacity to train technicians in stand-alone solar home system site survey, sizing, electrical basics, installation, troubleshooting, rectification, repairs and maintenance after which training on hybrid systems will be enrolled which includes grid tie to mention but a few.

The upcoming 5 day training will cover areas like;

  • Safety and Electrical basics.
  • System components.
  • System sizing and Installations.
  • Trouble shooting.
  • Repair and maintenance.

The 5 day training will be at a fee of $150 (Ugx. 500,000/=) per person inclusive of breakfast and lunch. Apply by downloading a form from CREEC’s website or pick application forms from CREEC’s office located at College of Engineering Design Art and Technology, Makerere University..
