From September 5–10, 2025, the CREEC EmpowerHer team had the joy of hosting the EmpowerHer Energy Training, a week dedicated to equipping young people and students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to shape the world’s clean energy future.

Over the course of the five days, participants immersed themselves in hands-on learning across four key areas:

• Clean cooking – exploring modern technologies that reduce reliance on charcoal and firewood.
• Energy efficiency – practical approaches to using less energy while achieving more.
• Intellectual property – understanding how to protect and own innovative ideas.
• Entrepreneurship – building business skills to take ideas from concept to market.

But what truly made this program special was the energy in the room. The creativity, curiosity, and bold thinking of the youth turned the training into more than just sessions, it became a launchpad for solutions that could directly respond to Uganda’s pressing energy challenges.

What’s Next?

The journey doesn’t stop here. Each participant was then invited to submit:

• A Pitch Deck (7–8 slides)
• A Lean Canvas (using the provided template)

A panel will review the submissions, and the Top 5 solutions will be selected for incubation. These innovators will not only receive mentorship but also receive a small seed support to bring their ideas to life.

EmpowerHer is more than a training, it is a platform through which we are elevating youth-led solutions, proving that with the right tools and support, students can transform classrooms into companies and ideas into impact.
